The Ward County Commission approved the Proposed Ward County Land Zoning Ordinances with a fee schedule at its July 1 meeting following a public hearing. The hearing opened at 9:19 a.m. and the commission voted to close the hearing and adopt the ordinance at 9:50 a.m. Planning Administrator Beth Pietsch presented the proposed ordinances and fee schedule to the commission during the hearing. John Pietsch, representing Freedom Township Planning and Zoning, spoke on behalf of the township and requested changes to the ordinances. Rice Lake resident Andy Fimrite spoke in favor of prompt passage. The motion to close the hearing and approve the ordinances was moved by Commissioner Schuler, seconded by Commissioner Merritt, and passed by roll call vote with Commissioners Rostad, Merritt, Olson, Schuler and Chair Fjeldahl voting yes. The commission record does not specify an effective date or detail the specific changes requested by Freedom Township.
