Council members press for playground repairs, Point Cadet equipment removal and dog-park support

Council members also discussed renting the unused concession stand near the former tennis courts and asked staff to examine whether the facility can be rented for small vendors. Council members asked about moving and funding a dog-park area into the former tennis-court footprint if money can be found.
On operations, council members pressed for more timely grass cutting on main roads and for park gates and restrooms to be secured and maintained, particularly ahead of holidays when families visit. One council member asked for locks on back gates that open into alleys and for staff to inspect concession stands for possible upgrades.
The mayor and other council members noted a dog-rescue birthday event at the dog park and encouraged residents to attend. Council members said they will continue to follow up on quotes and plans for replacement playground equipment and surface type and will try to have work proceed over winter so new equipment is ready by spring.
