District instruction leaders told the board the preliminary graduation rate for the class of 2025 at Greenfield Central High School is about 93.24 percent, up from the previously reported 89.05 percent figure in the prior year’s official reporting. Staff noted there is still roughly six weeks to finalize outcomes for students who may complete requirements, and that the figure could rise slightly.
Instructional staff also reported on the fourth‑grade transition after the district shifted fourth grade back into elementary schools. "The transition has gone very well," the principal leading the update said, and teachers and principals "worked very, very hard beginning April last school year to prepare for the transition." Administrators identified minor alignment issues to resolve — for example, differences in how citizenship is scored on elementary and intermediate report cards — and said building leaders will work quickly to standardize those practices.
Board members praised work by building staff and principals. District officials said they will continue to monitor student outcomes and return with updates as necessary.
Separately, the board approved a resolution supporting pursuit of the Purple Star designation from the Indiana Department of Education, which recognizes schools that provide supports to military families. The board voted to adopt a resolution and directed staff to publicize the commitment; staff said the application requires a school‑level point of contact, roughly 90 minutes of virtual training for those contacts and a resolution at the board level.
