The County Commission accepted the resignation of Park Board member Jason Voss, who sent his resignation by text message earlier the same day. The commission noted that two or three people have already expressed interest in the open Park Board seat and instructed staff to post the vacancy on the county website through Joetta.

Separately, Lisa Heizer, county parks staff, told the commission she was “giving you my resignation effective immediately” but offered to remain to finish the meeting. Commissioners thanked Heizer for her service; no formal vote was recorded on Heizer’s resignation. The commission discussed the application process for the Park Board vacancy and asked interested applicants to coordinate with county staff for posting and interviews.

The commission will accept applications and follow its normal process to fill the Park Board opening. For Heizer’s position, commissioners acknowledged the staffing change and said they will coordinate coverage and ask Heizer and staff to help with the handoff where appropriate.
