County Administrator Glenn Hull told commissioners Thursday he is drafting a resolution to adopt a formal policy for ordinance adoption and that moving forward will require repealing or amending the current process outlined in the ordinance.
Hull said he will bring a resolution to appoint Rebecca Harden as acting county administrator during his upcoming out-of-country travel; the resolution will come before the board at the next meeting. He also said the county's SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) process will begin moving through departments, with staff having until May 31 to provide information on prior SPLOST projects.
Hull updated the board that development of the Georgia Bend Fire Station would be handled internally and follow the county's purchasing policy. Commissioner Drew Jones raised a related question about a radio tower in Georgia Bend; Hull said he is in negotiations with an electrical co-op and that county records do not show a purchase of the tower, a point Jones disputed. The board did not take formal votes on these administrative updates at the meeting but directed staff to continue the tasks described by the administrator.
