At its Aug. 18 meeting the Canton ISD Board of Trustees approved multiple program and policy items affecting curriculum support and extracurricular recognition. The board approved a resolution granting adjunct status for the VZ County Extension faculty for the 2025–26 school year (motion by Josh Wilkerson, second by Matt Dunn; vote 6–0). The board also approved a resolution conferring extracurricular status on the 4‑H organization through the VZ County Extension Agent for the 2025–26 school year (motion by Jack Thelen, second by Dr. Leslea Evans; vote 6–0). Trustees adopted the 2025–26 Canton ISD District and Campus Improvement Plans and HB 3 board goals (motion by Josh Wilkerson, second by Matt Dunn; vote 6–0). The board approved revisions to LOCAL policy EFB(LOCAL) as presented (motion by Josh Wilkerson, second by Jack Thelen; vote 6–0).
