The Canton Independent School District Board of Trustees on July 21 approved increases to student meal prices for the 2025–26 school year. The board voted 7-0 to raise breakfast and lunch prices at each campus and to raise adult meal prices.
The approved prices are: Canton High School (CHS) — breakfast $2.00 (up $0.50), lunch $3.00 (up $0.30); Canton Junior High (CJH) — breakfast $2.00 (up $0.50), lunch $3.00 (up $0.30); Canton Elementary School (CES) — breakfast $2.00 (up $0.50), lunch $2.75 (up $0.35); Canton Intermediate School (CIS) — breakfast $2.00 (up $0.50), lunch $2.75 (up $0.35); adult breakfast $3.00 (up $0.50), adult lunch $4.00 (up $0.50).
The motion to approve the increases was made by Board Member Jack Thelen and seconded by Board Member Dr. Leslea Evans; the vote was recorded as 7-0 in favor. Board President Kenneth Pruitt presided over the meeting.
The increases were listed on the consent and action agenda and approved at the July 21 meeting; the board did not record any additional conditions or phased implementation in the minutes. The district’s first day of school is scheduled for Aug. 13, 2025.
