Calhoun County ISD trustees voted 6-0 to appoint Leon/Alcala, PLLC as the district’s legal counsel under an agreement available through the Texas Association of Community School membership services. The board motion to appoint the firm was made by Dominic Robles and seconded by Dana Dworaczyk.

According to the meeting minutes, the membership agreement supplies no-retainer legal services and retains the firm to provide general legal counsel and representation in matters where the district requests legal services. The minutes do not record fee schedules or an engagement letter beyond the district’s membership arrangement with the association.

Trustees voted unanimously (Alford, Dworaczyk, Leal, McAfee, Robles and Shrader) to approve the appointment. The minutes do not include public comment on the legal-counsel selection.
