Calhoun County Independent School District announced that 54 teachers were designated under the Texas Education Agency’s Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program based on 2023–24 student-growth and T-TESS observation data. The designations — Recognized, Exemplary and Master — result in a combined allotment of $721,269 for the district’s honored teachers.
According to the district summary presented at the Aug. 4 special board meeting, individual allotments under TIA range between $6,211 and $24,912. The district reported that teachers will receive 90% of the allotment amounts and that the Texas Education Agency will award the allotment annually for up to five years if the teacher remains in a teaching position and receives a creditable year of service.
Board members formally recognized the designated teachers at the meeting. District materials provided to the Board describe the program as a state initiative intended to recruit, retain and reward highly effective teachers, specifically those in the top 30% of Texas educators under the program’s measures. The transcript did not list individual teacher names in the board minutes; the district reported the aggregate allotment total and the count of designated teachers.
