He described legislative uncertainty and said the district will need to pursue both economizing measures and revenue-reinforcement options if the reductions materialize.
The presenter also reviewed the packet’s financial reports, noting final receipts and expenditures for February and March and an updated January report. He said the district’s February ADM (average daily membership) count was down slightly from the fall, a continuing concern as the legislature finalizes the biennial budget.
No formal budget cuts or revenue changes were approved at the meeting; the discussion was presented as informational and preparatory. Board members asked questions but were told the administration could not provide firm or final numbers until legislation is finalized; the presenter cautioned that the session was scheduled to end April 29 and that bill language could continue to change.
