The Hancock County School Board received the district’s final financial figures for 2024 and a seven‑year comparison of appropriations, tax levy and assessed value. District staff said they need a bit more time to finalize all 2024 wrap‑ups and that some interfund transfers — covering classified staff severance, retirement balances, insurance expenses and ESSER‑3 closeouts — would be carried out to balance education and operations funds. A finance presenter told the board the transfers this year are similar to prior years and that detailed transfer listings will be included in next month’s report. The board reviewed the claims docket, which included regular accounts payable, payroll (January had three pay periods) and a construction claim. The board voted to approve the claim docket as presented. Board members asked for clarification on transfers; staff said they would include transfer detail in the next monthly report. No new tax rate or levy changes were proposed at the meeting.
