Board President Marilee Keim announced during the Aug. 14 Fairfield Community Schools board meeting that Sarah Elledge is unable to attend the session and has submitted a letter of resignation effective Sept. 11, 2025 because she will be moving out of the district. Dr. Carrie Cannon read a short statement from Elledge at the request of the board.

Keim said a more formal statement from Elledge will be shared at a later date and that the district is in the process of seeking her replacement. Elledge’s current term would have expired in 2026. The minutes do not record a formal acceptance vote at the meeting; Keim’s remarks were recorded as an announcement to the board and attendees.
