The Cape May County Human Services Advisory Council on June 4 said its office will update the county Homeless Resource Directory and reported modest ongoing support from the county Housing Trust Fund programs.
HSAC Coordinator Sabrina Hand said the council’s planning focus for the past month “continues to be on projects related to the provision of services for those experiencing homelessness.” The HSAC office will send the current directory to listed agencies with instructions to edit or add programs; a draft is expected for the July CEAS meeting.
The HTF (Housing Trust Fund) Advisory Board reported at its June 3 meeting that the housing subsidy program continues to support three households with housing and case management. The prevention program, the board said, has assisted 11 adults and 10 children to maintain housing.
The HSAC office also reported that the Peer Grouping allocation plan for calendar year 2025 was submitted to the New Jersey DHS Division of Aging Services on May 20, 2025, and that the council previously approved the CY 2025 Peer Grouping spending plan and level-of-service synopsis at the May 7 HSAC meeting.
At the CEAS (Countywide Emergency Assistance Services) committee meeting, members heard a presentation on the Bringing Veterans Home initiative by Soldier On and Monarch Housing, the HSAC office reported. HSAC staff said work is under way with the Southern New Jersey Continuum of Care (SNJCoC) and local agencies on data dashboards to capture service information.
HSAC staff also announced partner outreach events: the county’s “We for 21” alcohol compliance campaign kickoff will be June 10 at the Wildwood Convention Center with sessions at 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.; businesses are asked to register at https://www.capeassist.org/wecheck21.
The council did not take a formal vote on program policy or funding at the June 4 meeting; the report items were updates and scheduling items and so were recorded as informational for council members.
