Bridge Commission reports $12,061.20 in AET ticket refunds; front-plate cameras installed at three bridges

Executive Director Kevin Lare told the Cape May County Bridge Commission on April 17 that the commission has reimbursed $12,061.20 under its AET ticket-buyback program as of April 14, 2025, and that recent equipment upgrades are underway at several bridge locations.
Lare said that since the March 20 meeting, 38 customers returned 2,602 tickets for $3,218.40 in reimbursements. He reported a cumulative total through April 14 of 105 customers returning 10,051 tickets for $12,061.20; that total includes three customers and 99 tickets totaling $118.80 that had not been recorded in March’s figures. Lare also read the monthly revenue report for March during the meeting.
On equipment, the commission reported the installation of front-plate cameras is complete at Townsend's Inlet, Middle Thorofare and Grassy Sound. Installations at Ocean City–Longport and Corson's Inlet were described as in progress. Commission signage was updated to reflect an event date of May 10, 2025. No formal action was taken on the AET program or equipment during the meeting.
