At the July 17 meeting, the Cape May County Bridge Commission heard an operations update that included toll-ticket buyback totals, equipment delivery and planned signage changes. Project Manager Antonio Colón provided the report.
Colón said customers have returned 39,523 AET (automatic electronic toll) tickets to date and that the Bridge Commission has reimbursed $47,427.60. The record notes a 30-day grace period applies to the program.
Colón also said new scanners from OSI have been delivered and that installation is planned for the fall of 2025. He reported the commission procured new and updated signage that will be posted before the bridges on the toll-lane side.
The record does not show any policy changes or additional appropriations tied to the ticket-buyback program at the July 17 meeting. Commissioners recorded the operational status and will proceed with the planned equipment installation and signage deployment.
Why it matters: the ticket-buyback figures and equipment upgrades affect toll customers and the commission’s toll-collection operations, and the 30-day grace-period policy affects customers returning AET tickets.
