The New Castle Community School Board of Trustees voted 5-0 Aug. 11 to approve a bid for multi-purpose restrooms located north of Neal Field. The motion to approve the bid was made by Jaci Hadsell and seconded by Jamey Marcum.
The vote came after the board amended the agenda earlier in the meeting to add the item. Board President Seth Lee presided over the meeting.
The board record states the bid was “approved as presented,” but the minutes do not include the name of the winning contractor, the bid amount, the expected project timeline, or funding source. No public comment or debate about the specific terms of the contract appears in the meeting minutes.
Board members have previously discussed facilities and grounds work in the meeting’s Building/Grounds/Transportation/Support Services section, where the minutes note several ongoing projects, including work on NCHS restrooms and the fieldhouse floor. The board’s approval on Aug. 11 covers only the formal acceptance of the bid; the minutes do not record any motions to authorize construction notices, change orders, or payment schedules at this meeting.
According to the minutes, the meeting began at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 7:24 p.m. Approximately 16 in-person and virtual attendees were present.
The board did not provide further schedule or budget details at the Aug. 11 meeting.
