Board approves Kubota service and authorizes sale of surplus equipment

Trustees approved two public-works actions: an initial $650 maintenance service for a recently acquired Kubota tractor and a motion to list several surplus pieces of equipment for sale on Purple Wave (an online auction platform). Staff explained the $650 service would perform the hour-based maintenance recommended by the dealer before warranty expiration. A trustee moved and the board approved the maintenance service; staff said the work is timed to occur near the dealer's 50-hour maintenance interval to protect warranty coverage. Separately, staff recommended listing a used compact tractor, a finish mower and other small equipment on Purple Wave after disclosing known defects. Trustees approved a motion to list the items and to disclose issues to potential buyers. Proceeds from equipment sales are expected to be used for future purchases such as a heavier trailer to haul mowers and other equipment. Trustees also discussed cemetery mowing and headstone damage, and asked staff to consider modest security measures such as gating and limited access to reduce vehicle incursions. No new cemetery ordinance or capital appropriation was approved at the meeting.
