A CP2 consultant briefed the Kennedale Economic Development Corporation on Aug. 26 about recent business-engagement work, saying CP2 had conducted face-to-face visits with more than 20 Kennedale businesses in the prior month and gathered feedback and resource needs.
The consultant said the EDC’s inaugural business connection luncheon drew 45 attendees, including representatives from more than 15 local businesses alongside city, chamber and Rotary leadership, and that the event generated positive feedback. “We had really great, strong, positive feedback, and we're already planning the next EDC event probably early 2026,” the consultant said.
He told the board the next event will focus on smaller entrepreneurs and emerging businesses, with a more tailored schedule and timing to accommodate small-shop operators. CP2 is also finalizing navigation, imagery and layout for a redesigned EDC website intended to serve both site selectors and existing Kennedale businesses; the site will consolidate resources on grants, incentives and permitting pathways and be designed for 24-hour access.
Other work mentioned included sponsorship and logistics for hometown-Christmas planning and finalizing entertainment contracts for that event. The consultant closed by inviting questions and confirming staff availability to support event planning and business outreach.
No formal EDC decisions were taken on the CP2 report; the presentation was an informational update.
