Committee members said they have tools available for a tool-share program but have not yet assigned them or confirmed participation. "I haven't heard anything from Nathan or Elizabeth... I don't know if we have anybody participating," a staff member (Speaker 4) said.
Members discussed the restroom construction near the garden and said the project is still under way; staff estimated completion “by the end of the year” but did not provide a firm date. The committee asked staff to follow up with the contractor and city office for a schedule.
The committee debated where to place a storage shed. One member said the current site “blocks the whole garden” and is “far, far, far from an ideal location.” Another member proposed moving the shed about 10 feet from the vent and adjacent to the new restroom wall; they asked the city manager and the police chief to weigh in on the final placement.
Members also raised concerns about the shed’s foundation. Committee members suggested replacing cinder blocks with a stabilized base and adding a permanent ramp or step when the shed is moved to a permanent location. “Especially with all the construction... that dirt's gonna be pretty soft and move,” a member (Speaker 1) said.
No formal actions or votes were recorded; members identified next steps: staff follow-up with city management and the police department about shed placement and restroom completion, and staff checks on tool-share assignment and inventory at the library.
The committee emphasized funding limits, noting that improvements such as a permanent shed base or ramp are contingent on available funding.
