At its June 2 meeting the Coweta City Council approved a set of stormwater and street-related actions: a professional services agreement with WSB, LLC for $41,000 to serve as the city's designated stormwater management consultant; the purchase of 360 linear feet of 36-inch HDPE pipe for $17,830.80 (budgeted to account 01-5209.015) to repair stormwater infrastructure at Roland Park; and emergency street repairs on 289th East Avenue south of Hickory Street.
Why it matters: The actions authorize both planning/consulting capacity for stormwater management and immediate repairs and materials to address localized failures.
Public Works Director Edgar Barroso requested the pipe purchase and described the need for repairs at Roland Park. The council approved the purchase, noting the item was budgeted to account 01-5209.015. Community Development Director Carolyn Back presented the WSB contract; the council approved the $41,000 agreement and directed the City Manager to execute necessary documents. Council also approved emergency street repairs at 289th E Ave south of Hickory Street; minutes record the motion and unanimous vote.
Motion and outcome: Each motion was moved by Harold Chance and seconded by Naomi Hogue; votes on the WSB contract, the pipe purchase and the emergency street repairs were recorded as unanimous (Harold Chance, Naomi Hogue, Lauren Givan, Caroline Martin, Jeremy Barnett).
Next steps: City staff will execute the WSB contract, proceed with procurement and installation of the HDPE pipe for Roland Park repairs and carry out the emergency street repairs as approved.
