The Coweta City Council on June 2 adopted the fiscal year 2026 budget and a joint master fee schedule that will take effect July 1, 2025. City Manager Julie Casteen presented the measures and the council approved both by unanimous vote.
Why it matters: The budget and master fee schedule set spending priorities and the fees, fines and rates charged by the City of Coweta and related authorities for the coming fiscal year.
The adopted budget, contained in Resolution 2025-12, covers the General Fund, Street and Alley Fund, Cemetery Fund, Library Fund, Rural Fire Fund, Self Insurance Fund, E-911 Fund, Grant Fund and the Capital Improvement Fund for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026. The joint master fee schedule in Resolution 2025-15 applies to the City of Coweta, the Coweta Public Works Authority and the Coweta Industrial Development Authority and confirms and modifies fees, fines and rates to be effective July 1, 2025.
Motion and outcome: Councilmember Harold Chance moved and Mayor Naomi Hogue seconded adoption of Resolution 2025-12 and of Resolution 2025-15; both motions carried unanimously with votes recorded for Harold Chance, Naomi Hogue, Lauren Givan, Caroline Martin and Jeremy Barnett.
Next steps: The budget and fee schedule will be implemented beginning July 1, 2025. Specific departmental budgets and fee changes will appear in city financial documents and the adopted master fee schedule when posted by the city.
