KKB members confirmed final preparations for a Butterfly Party scheduled for Sept. 27 and asked the city to include a proclamation on the upcoming council agenda so the group can display it at the event. “Butterfly party is just moving along. It will be on September 27,” a committee member said. The member added that signs were already posted and that “butterflies have already been ordered. They'll be here.”
The committee member said volunteers from the club and “key co volunteers” had signed up and that an Amazon supply list would be provided to other coordinators: “Laurie, I'll have our Amazon list for you by the end of the week.” Organizers said they still needed to recruit “a couple more experts for the adult education” portion of the event.
Members requested a copy of the city proclamation for display. A committee member said the group would seek placement on the council agenda: “we'll get that proclamation on Tuesday,” and added that in prior years the proclamation was presented in a format suitable for display. The member asked that staff provide “that copy so we can display it at the butterfly party.”
There was no formal vote recorded on event planning; topics discussed were logistical coordination, supply ordering, volunteer recruitment and securing a proclamation copy from the city.
