Board approves carryover and discretionary SBDM funding for several schools

The Bowling Green Independent School District Board of Education on Aug. 4 approved requests to carry over FY26 School-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) Section 6 funds for Potter Gray Elementary School and W.R. McNeill Elementary School, and approved Section 7 discretionary resource requests for seven schools.
Member Frank H. "Hamp" Moore Jr. moved to approve the Section 6 carryovers; the motion was seconded by Member Michael Bishop and carried with all five members voting yes. Member Cierra Waller moved to approve the Section 7 discretionary funding requests; the motion was seconded by Mr. Moore and also passed unanimously.
The Section 7 requests approved at the meeting covered Bowling Green High School, Bowling Green Junior High School, Dishman-McGinnis, Parker-Bennett-Curry, Potter Gray, T.C. Cherry and W.R. McNeill, as presented on the agenda. The minutes record approval of the requests but do not list dollar amounts or program-specific allocations for the discretionary funds.
These approvals allow the listed schools to retain and spend the specified SBDM allocations under district rules for FY26.
