Board approves student trips, facility requests, employee holidays and declares surplus property

On student and club travel, the board approved Bowling Green High School girls soccer travel to Gallatin, Tenn. (Aug. 5 and Aug. 21, 2025) and Gatlinburg, Tenn. (Sept. 5–7, 2025); BGHS cheer competition travel to Huntsville, Ala. (Oct. 2025), Lebanon, Tenn. (Nov. 2025), Winchester, Ky. (Dec. 12–13, 2025), Morehead, Ky. (Jan. 10–11, 2026) and Orlando, Fla. (Jan. 28–Feb. 2, 2026); DM 5th Grade to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Ind. (May 21, 2025); and other club/service opportunities (for example, BGHS FCCLA service opportunity in Nashville, Tenn., on April 4, 2025). The board approved these trips on a motion by Lisa Allen seconded by Cierra Waller; all members voted yes.
The board also approved requests to use district facilities by organizations including Kids For Christ at T. C. Cherry (listed dates in April and May 2025), Center Pointe Church at T. C. Cherry (March 29, 2025) and Blaze II at Parker-Bennett-Curry on Mondays and Tuesdays in 2025, as recorded in the minutes.
In separate motions the board approved employee holidays for staff who work 260 days in the 2025–2026 school year and declared miscellaneous district items and inventory surplus to be disposed of or sold. All operational approvals were adopted by unanimous show-of-hands votes; the meeting record does not include additional discussion or cost estimates for trips or facility use fees.
