The Bowling Green Independent School District board approved amendments to the district salary schedule, approved reclassification of specified positions and accepted a slate of personnel recommendations at its March 10, 2025 meeting.
Board Member Michael Bishop moved and Frank H. “Hamp” Moore Jr. seconded to amend the Bowling Green Independent Salary Schedule; the motion passed unanimously by show of hands. The board then approved reclassification of positions effective March 11, 2025 — the agenda lists changes such as reclassifying School Secretary roles to Administrative Support Specialist and an Attendance/IC Clerk to Administrative Support Clerk at Dishman McGinnis Elementary School. The motion to approve reclassifications was made by Mr. Moore and seconded by Mr. Bishop and carried on a unanimous vote.
On the superintendent’s recommendation the board approved creation of certified and classified positions: a Teacher English at Bowling Green High School effective Aug. 6, 2025; a Student and Family Counselor (220 days) at Central Office effective March 11, 2025; a Systems Technician in Technology effective July 1, 2025; and an Instructional Assistant Sp Ed at Potter Gray Elementary effective March 11, 2025. The motion to approve personnel positions was made by Lisa Allen, seconded by Cierra Waller, and approved unanimously.
As required by Kentucky Revised Statutes KRS 160.390(2), the superintendent notified the board of completed personnel actions since the February board meeting. The meeting record lists retirements effective in mid–2025 (for example, Suzanne Brooks effective July 1, 2025; Michele Steiner effective July 1, 2025), multiple resignations with effective dates (for example, Roselind Boyd effective Feb. 7, 2025), transfers and new hires with effective dates (for example, Jennifer Carter, Instructional Assistant Sp Ed, effective March 3, 2025), employment of seasonal maintenance staff with May 27, 2025 start dates, and a non-renewal of contract for Amanda Walden effective June 30, 2025. The meeting minutes provide the full list of names and effective dates.
All personnel approvals on the agenda were adopted by unanimous show-of-hands votes; the minutes do not record roll-call tallies or public comment on these items.
