Board reviews fire-safety write-ups, gym alarm repairs and plans $1M grant for front-of-school security

The sprinkler system inspection by State Systems could not complete a pump test because of a loss of pressure; the written report was attached for board review.
The director report also noted the Tennessee National Guard requested the district complete a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPP) with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation if ground disturbance for the soccer field exceeded one acre.
Separately, Dr. Norris said the district will submit a COP-SVPP grant to enclose the front of the building and add security infrastructure; the grant has a stated limit of $1 million and can include construction. Dr. Norris said she would begin working with grant writer Maureen Meyer and Shannon Schaeffer to develop the application. The meeting record cites prior architecture drawings (TLM, 2002) as background for the proposed front-of-building addition.
