The Daviess County Board of Education approved the 2025–26 salary schedules on May 15, 2025, adopting a 3% increase and step/experience adjustments for certified and support personnel. The vote was 5-0 after a motion by Mr. Trey Pippin and a second by Mrs. Tammy Rice. The approval covers the district’s certified and support salary schedules for the 2025–26 school year, and the district will implement the 3% raise alongside routine step/experience movements reflected in the published salary tables. Board member Trey Pippin moved to approve the schedule and said he “wishes the Board could give more than 3% and an additional personal day, but he understands we need to be fiscally responsible.” The motion was seconded by Mrs. Tammy Rice and carried unanimously. The approved schedules include detailed ranks, steps and supplements for certified teachers, administrators, classified staff and extracurricular positions as presented in the attached schedules. Board Chair James Morgan, Dr. Tom Payne and Mr. Frank Riney joined the aye votes. The board also approved an addendum earlier in the meeting allowing certified and classified staff who work part of Camp Curiosity and Gifted and Talented Camp — Summer 2025 to be paid at their regular daily/hourly rate from the 2024–25 salary schedule rather than the regular summer-school rate. Implementing the salary schedule will affect payroll planning and was handled as a separate action item on the board’s agenda; the superintendent recommended approval in the packet materials. No additional conditions or amendments to the schedule were adopted at the meeting. The board’s approval finalizes pay tables that will be used in contracts and payroll calculations for the coming school year; detailed tables showing base salaries, ranks and extracurricular supplements are part of the board record.
