Garrard Fiscal Court authorizes Judge/Executive to sign $488,775 Rural Secondary agreement

Garrard County Fiscal Court on July 28 authorized Judge/Executive Chris Elleman to sign a Rural Secondary Program Agreement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Transportation Cabinet and the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid that provides funding in an amount not to exceed $488,775 for reimbursement of FLEX Fund projects. The court passed a separate resolution adopting and approving execution of the agreement and accepting the roads named in the agreement as part of the county road system. The agreement covers reimbursement for work on Calico Road, Doty Lane, Eastland Acres, Glenmore Heights and Old Lexington Road East. Magistrate Wayne Day moved to authorize the Judge/Executive to sign the agreement and Magistrate Glendan Barker seconded; the motion carried with all magistrates voting in favor. Magistrate Davis moved to approve the resolution adopting the agreement; Magistrate Chris Butner seconded and the motion passed with all magistrates voting in favor. The authorization and the resolution are administrative steps required to accept the funding and allow reimbursement claims; the court did not discuss specific contractor selections at the July 28 meeting.
