The pay adjustment was included in the court’s proposed fiscal 2026 budget. Magistrate Faulkner moved to approve the salary schedule; Magistrate Stanley seconded the motion. All magistrates present voted in favor and the motion carried.
The increase applies to every county employee, according to Hopkins’s presentation; no subgroup exemptions or tiered percentages were specified during the meeting. No public speakers opposed or amended the proposal during the discussion.
The approval occurred during a special meeting called to complete end‑of‑fiscal‑year business; court members handled the salary schedule as a formal action on the agenda. The court did not adopt additional implementation steps at the meeting beyond approving the schedule and recording the pay period and check dates provided by the treasurer.
