Town staff briefed the council on upcoming community events and parks activities, and council members praised volunteers and staff for recent successes.

Charlie Smith updated the council that the town will host a food-truck night on the last Wednesday of the month (Aug. 27) and that the second annual Brass Rabbit festival is scheduled for Oct. 4 at Warburton Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Smith said roughly 50 vendor booths and several thousand attendees occurred at last year’s event and the town expects a similar turnout.

Parks board members and councilors reported the splash pad will remain open through the end of the month on specified hours and that the parks board is exploring a live-music event later in the season. Councilmember Mobley commended the parks board and staff for turnout at recent events and for supporting the town-sponsored Sellersburg Celebrates gala.
