Temporary Interim Superintendent Eddie Keel provided several operational updates June 5, reporting dates for summer programs, staff rehire communications, pending bid evaluations and the timing for a $2,000 teacher bonus.
Keel told the board, "Summer Learning Camp, Beyond the Bell, and the Summer Innovation Seminar end June 18, 17, and 7, respectively. Rehire letters were sent last Friday; staff with issues should contact HR. Bid evaluations start next week with recommendations coming soon. The $2,000 teacher bonus will be distributed after the state sends funds next fiscal year. Placement decisions are expected by June 16, pending final transfers and staffing reviews based on the approved budget, which may affect the timeline."
Keel's update indicates that distribution of the $2,000 bonuses depends on receipt of state funds; the superintendent did not give a firm payout date beyond that condition. He also noted that rehire letters have already been issued and that staff who believe they were not rehired or have a concern should contact Human Resources.
Board members did not debate or vote on the bonus distribution timeline during the meeting; the Personnel Report for May 2025 was provided in the meeting packet with no discussion recorded.
