Director Watkins reports start-of-year staffing, new special-education director and sports updates

Director of Schools Tim Watkins provided a brief update at the Aug. 4 meeting noting that students returned to schools on Friday and the first full instructional day was scheduled for the following day. Watkins said enrollment numbers were solid and close to where the 2024–25 year closed and that the district had needed to add last-minute staff to accommodate added students.
Watkins introduced Dawn Robertson as the district’s new Special Education Director. He also noted that golf practices started that day in South Fulton and that football and volleyball seasons were starting soon.
