County Planner Dave Dech said he met with case‑study municipalities that are part of the complete streets study, which will examine segments of county roads in Belvidere, White Township, Hackettstown, Washington Township, Franklin and Phillipsburg. Dech said two public meetings will be held on the study: an in‑person meeting March 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the Southwest Branch Library and a virtual meeting March 18 at 6:30 p.m. The meetings will combine the county’s complete-streets presentation with the New Jersey Transportation Planning Authority’s Local Safety Action Plan Initiative, Dech said, and the board was urged to attend one of the sessions.
Finelli and Dech said the county recommends 'incorporating' elements from the streetscape study into the county design standards rather than mandating them immediately; Finelli estimated mid-summer as a likely timeframe for completion of that combined work.
