County accepts 16.717‑acre donation for White Lake and approves Ken Miller property modification, demolition plan

Warren County commissioners voted Feb. 26 to accept the donation of a 16.717‑acre parcel in Frelinghuysen Township from the Land Conservancy of New Jersey to be permanently preserved and added to the White Lake Natural Resource Area, and to modify a separate purchase agreement for the Ken Miller property in Greenwich Township to allow the county to demolish a dilapidated barn.
Resolution 113-25 authorizes the county to accept the donated parcel (Block 103, Lot 13) and directs the county director or administrator to sign the conservation agreement and any documents necessary to complete the acquisition. The resolution states the parcel adjoins existing county parkland and contains approximately 463 feet of frontage along the Paulinskill.
Resolution 112-25 modifies the county’s May 20, 2024 purchase agreement for Block 23, Lot 7.01 (Ken Miller property) to permit the county to demolish and remove a dilapidated barn prior to closing; it records the landowner’s agreement to execute a mortgage to the county in the amount of $27,500.00 to cover demolition and clean‑up costs and notes the landowner no longer reserves a life estate to the property. The board also separately approved a $27,500 agreement with Eikon Planning and Design, LLC to perform the demolition and barn removal (Resolution 124-25). All resolutions passed by unanimous recorded votes.
