The Bristol Tennessee Board of Education approved two policies on first reading at the Aug. 18 meeting: Policy 4.600, Grading Systems, and Policy 5.200, Separation Practices for Tenured Teachers. Director of Schools Dr. Annette Tudor recommended approval; Debbie Darnell moved to approve and Jim Butcher seconded. The motion passed with votes from Jim Butcher, Jennifer Henson, Charlie Taylor, Debbie Darnell and Eric Cuddy.
The minutes record the board’s first-reading approval but do not include amended language or a detailed discussion in the record. As first-reading items, the policies will return for a second-reading vote in a subsequent meeting as required by board procedure.
