The Town of Newburgh on Aug. 13 approved a sewer construction agreement and a construction permit for the Gateway Villas planned unit development near State Road 66.

Town staff told the council the sewer extension package includes a construction agreement, a sewer agreement, and a construction permit; the documents incorporate special provisions recommended by staff about construction and technical standards. Staff said the developer has reached a stage where the town can approve the agreements and permit so the work may proceed.

A council member moved to approve the Gateway Villas PUD sewer agreement; a second was given and the motion carried by voice vote. The council then approved the corresponding construction permit by the same process.

Staff referenced the developer as Delta Properties and said the agreements reflected negotiated encroachment and technical provisions. No additional conditions were added at the council meeting; staff said the permit and agreement include the necessary provisions for construction oversight and standards compliance.
