Commissioners reappoint clerk, make personnel changes, cancel two meetings and address 'sanctuary' listing

The board also appointed and reappointed members to the Warren County Municipal and Charitable Conservancy Trust Fund Committee, including Gary Corde (term to expire March 25, 2027), Rene Mathez (reappoint, expires March 25, 2027) and Charles Fineran (reappoint, expires March 25, 2027) (Resolution 333-25).
On a motion by County Administrator Alex J. Lazorisak, seconded by Commissioner Lori Ciesla, the board authorized cancellation of the July 9, 2025 and August 27, 2025 commissioners meetings and directed the administrator to prepare and advertise the public notice; recorded vote was yes from all three commissioners.
Commissioner Director Jason Sarnoski commented on a recent public report relating to the county's immigration "sanctuary" status. Sarnoski said that Warren County "has declared it is a sanctuary county and cooperates with ICE and Homeland Security on a frequent basis," and then said the published list was incorrect and taken down, noting: "Warren County has declared itself as a non-sanctuary county." The minutes record Mr. Kern thanking administration, the warden and others who worked on the situation and acknowledging outside contacts including Senator Doug Steinhardt. The minutes present these remarks as commissioner comments rather than a formal board resolution.
