Somerset County presented a series of grant insertions and funding applications at its June 24 work session, as reflected in the meeting materials. Key items included an insertion of a special item of revenue of $176,964.69 from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office National Opioid Settlement Fund (Resolution 25-13-38) and an insertion of $1,739,180 for a state Department of Human Services flood mitigation assistance program (Resolution 25-13-39); staff noted a cash match appropriated in the open space fund for that project. The packet also listed multiple awards and insertions for youth justice, juvenile services and SCP program funds ranging from $90,000 to $324,522, and a social services for the homeless grant in the amount of $145,000. Public-health-related applications were included as well: the Office on Aging was authorized to apply for state aid reimbursement for January 1–December 31, 2024, not to exceed $58,000 (Resolution 25-1304), and the Somerset County Department of Health was authorized to apply for a Strengthening Local Public Health (Pathway B) grant of up to $50,000 to offset expenses related to seeking national public health accreditation (Resolution 25-1306). The Office on Aging and Disability Services planned to apply for an Age-Friendly grant (Nov. 1, 2025–June 30, 2026) with a total not to exceed $70,000; no local match was required for that application. Several other grant- and revenue-related items were listed in the packet, including insertion of funds from the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety Youth Justice Commission and authorizations related to workforce development programs. In some items staff identified matching funds or appropriations (for example a cash match from the open space fund for flood mitigation assistance). The June 24 transcript records the amounts as presented; many of the items were listed for inclusion on future meeting agendas or consent calendars.
