The Westfield Common Council voted 6-0 on Aug. 25 to adopt Resolution 25-140 (fiscal plan) and Ordinance 25-44, approving a voluntary annexation of the Northpointe 2 Phase 2 area. Ryan Collingwood of the Community Development Department said the compiled annexation area is approximately 159.8 acres located north of State Road 38 and northeast of the first approved annexation phase.
Collingwood provided clarifications to the documents in the council packet: a drafting correction stating that site construction for the annexation will begin in April 2026 (rather than indicating construction had already started) and that the packet contemplates three new buildings per year rather than three buildings total. “The initial phase of this North Point 2 annexation area was approved at the April 28 City Council meeting,” Collingwood said during the introduction.
The annexation received a public hearing and was eligible for adoption the same evening; the council approved both the fiscal plan resolution and the annexation ordinance by voice and roll call with a 6-0 tally. Councilors asked no substantial follow-up questions during the adoption vote, and staff said additional documentation and exhibits were available in the meeting packet for council review.
