Warren County approves contract extensions and new purchases including vehicles, correctional electrical design and training course

The Warren County Board of County Commissioners approved multiple contract extensions, awards and purchase orders at its April 9 meeting in Belvidere, including vehicle purchases, professional services and training for county offices.
The board extended an auto collision repair contract with Mike’s Auto Body Shop for a third year at an estimated $55,000 and extended fire suppression maintenance with RJM Automatic Fire Protection, LLC for a second year with a base amount of $15,576. It extended a data processing services contract for the Warren County Tax Board with Microsystems-NJ.com, LLC for a second year at $34,000.
The board awarded a professional electrical engineering contract to Strunk‑Albert Engineering of East Stroudsburg, Pa., for the design of a new electrical service at the county correctional facility in an amount not to exceed $21,000. It approved Johnson Controls for Metasys automatic temperature control system maintenance at county facilities for an amount not to exceed $55,468 and authorized a purchase order to Zetron Inc. for 9‑1‑1 telecommunications Silver Plan maintenance totaling $47,329.47.
Separately, the board authorized purchase orders for vehicles under state or cooperative contracts: a 2025 Ford F550 for the Bridge Department ($60,991.75), a 2025 Ford T350 passenger wagon for the motor pool ($56,311.00) and two 2024 Kenilworth T480 dump trucks ($276,244.45 total).
The board also authorized a $48,500 purchase order to the Verbal Judo Institute for an in‑person verbal judo instructor course described in the resolution as training to de‑escalate conflict for the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office. Resolutions referencing the Local Public Contracts Law and applicable exceptions were adopted by recorded unanimous votes after motions by Commissioner James R. Kern III and second by Deputy Director Lori Ciesla.
Funding lines for each contract are identified in the accompanying resolutions or purchase orders and were certified by the county chief financial officer where required. The actions are recorded as routine procurement and maintenance decisions in the meeting minutes.
