Harlem U.D. 122 recognizes Rock Cut student PBIS team and Harlem Middle School cheer squad

The recognitions highlighted student leadership, school pride and extracurricular success.
Rock Cut Elementary’s PBIS team — introduced by the school principal, Mr. Reinicky — described its role helping younger students, monitoring halls and running the student PBIS store, where students can spend ranger rewards monthly. The principal noted the students help “give a student voice to some of our discipline procedures” and assist with daily routines.
Harlem Middle School’s cheer coaches and team were recognized for competing at the state level and earning a fifth-place award. Coach Susan Shaffer and assistant coaches described the season, including injuries and weekly routine adjustments; the board presented medals and a plaque that had been delayed at the competition. Board members and administrators applauded the students’ resilience and the coaching staff’s work.
Board members used the recognitions to emphasize district-wide PBIS work and student voice. Several board members praised the students and encouraged continued community attendance at upcoming showcases and competitions.
