Tax-collector staff explained the multi-step process used to reduce the number of properties headed to deed sale and recommended setting the auction date at roughly six months to provide owners an opportunity to redeem delinquent taxes. The staff said their office had reduced the list to five parcels and described parcel sizes ranging from narrow strips to one parcel of about 37.5 acres.
The commissioners adopted a motion combining the five parcels into a single auction and selected Nov. 3, 2025 as the auction date. The parcels were read into the record with the partial/parcel numbers provided by the tax-collector staff: RP003760010110; RP04N39E284990; RP05N36E316000; RPB00000324890; RPB02100050068. The clerk will publish required notices and the tax-collector’s office said it will send recorded tax deeds and explanatory letters to owners in advance of the sale to encourage redemption if possible.
Tax-collector staff said the office typically schedules such sales in July or August but suggested November provides more time to resolve issues while keeping momentum; commissioners agreed on the Nov. 3 date and asked staff to provide a 30-day update ahead of the auction.
The motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
