Jefferson County commissioners authorized Commissioner Hancock to sign the construction contract for the Mud Lake fair building once the apparent low bidder provides required bonds, insurance and other submittals.
County staff told the board the low bidder has been identified and that submission of bonding and insurance certificates remains outstanding. “We are still waiting for the bonds and the insurance information,” a county staff member said. The staff member asked the board to authorize a commissioner to sign the contract once the paperwork is complete so the project can move forward.
A commissioner moved to approve authority for Commissioner Hancock to sign the contract as soon as the low bidder supplies the required documents; another commissioner seconded the motion. The board completed a roll-call vote and approved the delegation.
Staff noted the bidder had met the criteria as the apparent low bidder and that final execution would follow receipt of the standard procurement submittals. Commissioners asked staff to notify them when the paperwork arrived so signatures could be arranged.
