County OKs donated PTO to cover employee medical leave

Jefferson County commissioners approved a one-time donation of 60 hours of paid time off on a motion during their meeting.
The donation covers employee ID 698 and is composed of 30 hours from employee 687, 20 hours from employee 596 and 10 hours from employee 603, a county staff member said. “The employee ID that is getting donated to is 698. And employee ID 687 is donating 30 hours. Employee 596 is donating 20 hours, and employee 603 is donating 10,” the staff member said.
A commissioner moved to approve the PTO transfer and another commissioner seconded the motion; the board then completed a roll-call vote and the transfer was approved. The staff member said the recipient will be out “for a couple weeks” and that donors must retain at least 80 hours of PTO after donating.
The commissioners did not make changes to county PTO policy on the record; the action documented in the minutes was the one-time approval of the specific transfers described above.
The board proceeded with other routine business after the vote.
