Main Street America to visit Downtown Waterloo on Sept. 10, local design council says

Samantha Price, chair of the Design Council of Main Street Waterloo, told the City Council on Aug. 25 that Main Street America — a national organization that supports downtown revitalization — will visit downtown Waterloo on Sept. 10. Price invited council members and residents to attend the visit and said it reflects recognition of ongoing downtown projects and momentum.

Price said the national team will meet with city representatives, community partners and stakeholders, tour downtown and provide feedback drawing on experience with thriving Main Street districts. Council members thanked the downtown volunteers for their recent festival work and noted the visit as an opportunity to showcase progress.

The announcement was delivered during the oral‑presentations portion of the meeting; no formal council action was required.
