After returning from executive session, the Waxahachie City Council on Monday voted 4–1 to terminate the contract to purchase property located at 5840 East Highway 287 and authorized the city manager to execute all related documentation.

A councilmember moved to terminate the contract and the motion carried on a recorded voice vote with one dissent.
