District awards Vista Grande roof replacement contract to DKG & Associates

The Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education approved an award for the Vista Grande roof replacement project at the May 12 meeting, selecting DKG & Associates, Inc., as the apparent low responsive bidder after staff evaluated six bids.
District procurement staff reported the district received proposals from six companies: DKG & Associates, EPX Construction Partners, Franklin Construction, National Roof Company, Pioneer Roofing & Construction, and Weiser Electric. Staff said evaluation points included a resident-business preference or veteran resident-business preference; Pioneer Roofing did not claim a resident preference and therefore did not receive preference points.
Staff recommended DKG & Associates based on the evaluation rubric and the bidder’s prior experience on comparable K–12 roofing projects, including work for other New Mexico school districts. The board voted to approve the award; the motion carried by voice vote.
Chief Operations Officer Mike Baker and the district’s finance and procurement staff will finalize contract documents and proceed with scheduling the work. Board members noted appreciation that multiple qualified contractors bid on the project.
