The Township High School District 211 Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Campbell recognized Hoffman Estates High School eSports students for state‑level finishes in Mario Kart and Rocket League.
Dr. Campbell introduced Assistant Superintendent Joshua Shoemaker, who invited the students and their families to come forward for awards. Hoffman Estates High School principal Mike Author joined Coach Gonzalo Bullion in presenting the athletes. Bullion, who the agenda identified as a 24‑year member of the district’s special education department and eSports coach, said the team had “a very successful season” and that he was most proud of the culture the students created.
Bullion listed the season results presented to the board: the Mario Kart team finished first in conference, second in sectionals and fourth at state; the Rocket League team finished first in conference, first in sectionals and third at state. The students recognized on the record included Xavier Domanski, Ethan Bose, Matthew Lopez, Jorge Prieto, David Gallu and Troy Johnson; parents were acknowledged as present.
Board members and the superintendent praised the program’s growth and thanked staff and families for their support. No formal board action was required; the item was a ceremonial recognition on the agenda.
