Employee tells board HR labeled him "fraudulent" and asks for standardized procedures

Fabrice Berrios, who identified himself before the board as a district employee, told the Rockford SD 205 Board of Education he was reprimanded for what HR called a "fraudulent submission" without an investigation and asked the board to set procedures to prevent staff from being accused without proof.
Berrios said his school had a contract issue that led to payroll overages being handled differently than in prior years and that he sought help from bilingual services and the superintendent's office. He said Human Resources staff member Lori Huddly ended the conversation and later reprimanded him. "I was verbally reprimanded for a fraudulent submission of documents and disobedient to Lori Huddly with no proofs or investigation," he said.
Berrios asked the board to establish procedures so HR staff do not call staff "fraudulent and disobedient" without proof and to ensure consistency between departments, saying payroll and HR responses differed from school to school. He also said a union grievance had been filed.
The board did not take public action during the meeting; the comment was recorded in the public-comment portion of the agenda.
