Superintendent Dr. Jared Spearman encouraged community members to attend a Golden Apple fundraiser at Ernie’s and thanked principals and students who participated in the superintendent’s student advisory group, saying the incoming student representatives reflect the district’s diversity.
Dr. Spearman said the Golden Apple event supports teacher quality grants and invited community members to attend. He also praised principals and students involved in interviewing and selecting the student advisory group for the next year.
Board member Miss Stanford announced the eighth annual educator summit at City First Church focused on youth safety in the classroom and responding to domestic violence; the event was described as free to attend and scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
